It will be re-instated only if there's some evidence that the old service will be available again, without any attempted blackmail or other nonsense.

Medawar would prefer commentators to refrain from using live links, which could send a reader to a malicious website. It is safer if everyone puts links in text form, which readers can cut and paste into their browser address line. Clicking on an https:\\ link can reveal more than the reader intends to third parties.
